EasySiteControl vs Contentful

Contentful is the enterprise standard and holds every byte of your content. We host the dashboard and hold none of it.

What Contentful is

Contentful is the enterprise headless CMS: a mature, fully hosted content platform with a global CDN, deep localisation, environments and release workflows, a very large integration ecosystem and the compliance posture large organisations require. It is proven at a scale most products never reach.

The difference that actually matters

Contentful is a hosted content platform — your content lives in Contentful's infrastructure, and you reach it through their APIs under a quota. That is the entire trade: you get scale, CDN and compliance, and in exchange your content is somewhere you do not control, and your costs scale with API calls and seats. EasySiteControl inverts it. The dashboard is hosted, but every record is written to a MongoDB you supply. There is no API call meter on your own data, because it is not our data to meter.

Choose Contentful if

  • You are an enterprise that needs SOC 2, DPAs, custom SLAs and a procurement-friendly vendor — we are a much smaller operation and should not pretend otherwise
  • You need serious multi-locale content operations across many markets
  • You need a global CDN for content delivery without building one
  • You have many content editors who need mature review, release and scheduling workflows
  • Your traffic is very large and you would rather buy scale than engineer it

Choose EasySiteControl if

  • Data location or ownership is a hard requirement — regulatory, contractual, or on principle
  • API-call metering is a poor fit for your traffic shape and you want costs that do not track usage
  • You want to build API responses with custom logic rather than shape everything client-side
  • You are an agency and each client needs their content in their own database, not pooled in your vendor account
