EasySiteControl vs Sanity

Sanity has the best editing experience in the category. It also keeps your content in their Content Lake.

What Sanity is

Sanity is a hosted content platform with an unusually good editor: the Studio is customisable React you actually control, editing is real-time and collaborative, GROQ is a genuinely powerful query language, and the image pipeline is excellent. Among headless CMSs, it has the strongest editorial experience.

The difference that actually matters

Sanity splits things the opposite way to us. Your Studio is code you own and deploy; your content sits in Sanity's hosted Content Lake. We do the reverse — the dashboard is ours and hosted, the data is yours and in your MongoDB. Neither is strictly better; they suit different worries. If your worry is editor experience, Sanity wins. If your worry is where the content physically lives and what it costs as you grow, that is the case for us.

Choose Sanity if

  • Editorial experience is the priority — Sanity's Studio is better than our dashboard and it is not close
  • You need real-time collaborative editing with multiple people in a document at once
  • You want to customise the editing interface itself as a React application
  • Portable Text and the structured-content model fit how your team thinks about content
  • Your team is small enough that per-seat pricing stays cheap

Choose EasySiteControl if

  • You need the content in a database you control, not a hosted content lake
  • Your team is large enough that per-seat pricing has become the dominant cost
  • You would rather grow into your own MongoDB than buy quota add-ons
  • You want API endpoints with server-side logic built visually rather than queried client-side
